NEXT STEPS
Gathering Perspectives
In developing this project I think that it is important to gather a range of perspectives to secure that the final outcome is of a high quality. With this I have been developing a range of studies to gather perspectives from a diverse range of people. Exploring both VR and AR technologies as ways of creating spaces to engage audiences with arts has meant that I have been developing different ways to reach audiences. Although both VR and AR are interesting and unconventional ways of reaching audiences and ways of displaying art works, at this point in developing this project I would like to consolidate and focus on one way of displaying works. As this project is finding ways to engage with audiences that may not feel welcome in more traditional institutions as well as platforming artists that have historically been excluded from these same institutions, I think that it is important to gather feedback/insight from these and wider audiences. To gather these perspectives I have applied for ethical approval for a questionnaire that will ask participants their previous interactions with either VR or AR and their opinions of their experience as well as how they found out about the experience. With the results of the questionnaire I hope to be able to confidently choose which avenue to explore further, ensuring that audience will have a positive experience when engaging with my exhibition.
As well as developing the questionnaire I have also applied for ethical approval for a focus group and interviews. In developing the focus group participants would use the virtual exhibition that have made a provide feedback. The feedback from the focus group will focus on the ease of use and accessibility. Creating an exhibition that I hope will engage with a wide audience it is important to ensure that the exhibition is not only interesting but also easy to use. In gaining feedback from others who have not engaged with the exhibition before and may not have used any virtual reality technologies before. Implementing this feedback ensures that there are no barriers too engaging with the exhibition and it welcomes all from all backgrounds.
Through this project I have been able to engage with artists and practitioners that use the different virtual reality technologies within their practice, in speaking with them i have been able to gain insight that I would not be able to access anywhere else because of this I would like to further conduct interviews. In proposing interviews with professionals in my ethical approval forms I hope use this insight into their own practices to ensure that my final outcome reaches a professional quality. Speaking with Mairi and Greg provided me with information that has propelled my project and provided perspectives that I would have thought about before speaking with them. In engaging with professionals that use different extended reality technologies I hope to gather a range of perspectives and ensure that every part of the exhibition is considered.

Artist Open Call
In developing this exhibition further I have developed an open call for artists to apply for. The open call will consists of asking artists to submit a 200 word description of their work as well as images, releasing this open call to the art school as a whole as well as on social media. Asking artists to provide descriptions of their works allows for me to be able to decide on what types of works would fit the best in the space that I have created. With the open call I also hope to be able to curate not only as may representations of femininity as possible but also as many mediums as possible. Throughout the Transdisciplinary project I have been using my own artworks or those within the Walker Art gallery, this has allowed me to better understand the software and equipment an open call will allow me to engage with artists. Collaborating with artists in filling the gallery space not only makes the exhibition but also provides a platform for artist who may not have been provided the opportunity to display their works.
